Using Foxwell NT510 scan tool with Jaguar Land Rover protocols

The NT510 with Aston Martin protocols does not support the DB7 V12 directly; it’s not in the list of available vehicles, however it is possible to diagnose most of the modules in the DB7 V12 if you have the Jaguar Land Rover protocols. Each module must be accessed individually using different protocols, from different vehicles.

Note that the i6 DB7 has a different architecture; this information is not applicable to i6 vehicles.

There are two OBD ports (DLC ports) in the DB7, behind the “glovebox panel” on the passenger side.

Connect the NT510 to the Powertrain Socket for access to some modules.

K-Line is Pin 7 in Body Socket is unique to Aston Martin, not used in any Jaguars.

General Info

Primary PCM $10 is Bank 1 (RHD drivers side), Secondary PCM $11 is Bank 2 (RHD pass side)

When looking at fault codes both PCM will report as Bank 1, so be aware of which is which.

Choose Ford or Jaguar for Manufacturer Specific DTC descriptions

DTCs in either PCM will put on check engine light; clear the DTCs in both modules

DTCs in the TCM may be displayed in PCMs, but must first be cleared in the TCM, then in the PCMs

TCM can also be accessed via Body socket

When accessing the ABS the warning lights will display in dash & warning chime sound, this is not an actual fault and doesn’t trigger DTCs, they will go off with an ignition cycle.
