Module Virginization
Most vehicle modules contain unique vehicle information stored. Depending on the module it could be a VIN, a CCF, immobilization data, injectors data etc.
Virginization of a module means that the module is being reset to a “brand new” condition, wiping out all these unique data sets.
There are two ways virginization could be performed:
Bench mode
Modules like SID20x (2.7 TDV6, 3.6 TDV8), EDC16 and EDC17 (2.2 TD4, 3.0 TDV6, 4.4 TDV8), ZF 8HP could be virginized only through a direct connection/bench mode with software like PCMFlash. We have all the required virgin data to load into a module using these tools.
OBD way
Modules like Denso PCMs, BCM, RFA, IPC, PSCM could be virginized over OBD, no disassembly required. However there are some caveats - BCM and RFA should NOT be in a locked condition, BCM should NOT be in an alarm armed state.
If you have questions about whether the module that you have could be virginized - contact us.
