Test Rigs - Behind the Scenes

Today I’m going to uncover some secrets about our development processes.

Developing our own diagnostic system isn’t just writing a code - it’s also a lot of testing, debugging and some reverse engineering too.

To make things easier and to avoid the risky “experiments” on live cars we’ve assembled a few test rigs.

These rigs are for tests/R&D for the following platforms:

  • Discovery 3, Range Rover Sport
  • X350 Jaguar XJ and S-Type
  • 2010-up Discovery 4, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, X351 Jaguar XJ, X152 F-Type
  • 2019 Jaguar XF - DoIP vehicle

These rigs include all the major modules, connected altogether, able to switch an ignition on and off, lock a “vehicle”. All these modules are communicating just like on a vehicle - we’re able to reflash these, run service routines and do whatever else we need.

Basically these are vehicles on a bench.

These are running 24/7 and we can connect and test whatever we need to whenever we’d like.
